چکیده
Ferritic stainless steel (FSS) grades are widely used for applications that require high strength and corrosion resistance. Their cost versatility in the market have attracted a lot of interest from both industry academic research. Despite their desirable properties, these steels experience surface defects as result microstructural evolution evolves due to softening mechanism. The current study simulated roughing hot rolling processes AISI 436 (17%Cr, Nb-Mo) FSS effects inter-pass time strain on precipitation behaviour mechanisms FSS. resulting microstructures were investigated using SEM-EBSD technique. results revealed Particle Stimulated Nucleation new grains during which promoted recrystallisation accumulation. Stored deformation energy was found increase with an interpass strain.

The Effect of Hot Deformation Parameters on Grain Size Refinement in a Martensitic Stainless Steel
The grain size refinement of AISI 422 martensitic stainless steel in the temperature range of 950-1150 ºC was investigated by hot deformation tests. The deformed specimens were held at deformation temperature with delay times of 5 to 300s after achieving a strain of 0.3. The austenite grains exhibit a considerable growth at temperature higher than 1050˚C, while the grain coarsening is negligibl...
متن کاملEffects of Homogenization Conditions and Hot Rolling Parameters on Grain Refinement of an As-Cast 301 Stainless Steel
In this work, effects of homogenization time of 3 to 13 h at 1200 °C on the grain refinement of as-cast AISI 301 stainless steel after different hot rolling conditions were investigated. The results showed that the minimum grain size of 16±7 mm was achieved when homogenization took place at 1200 °C for 9 h followed by hot rolling at temperature range of 1000–1200 °C with strain of 0.8 and stra...
متن کاملPrecipitation sequence in niobium-alloyed ferritic stainless steel
Niobium is an important alloying element in the design of heat-resistant ferritic stainless steels for automotive exhaust systems. When in solid solution, it improves both the high temperature strength and the resistance to thermal fatigue. However, it also forms several kinds of precipitates during service. These reactions have been modelled, taking into account the multicomponent nature of th...
متن کاملMechanism of SCC on SUS310S Stainless Steel
The author have developed a new SCC test method that enables the super Kelvin force microscope (SKFM) and the Kelvin force microscope (KFM) observations. By using this test device, the crack tip deformation and surface potential distribution were observed on SUS310S stainless steel by SKFM and KFM. At the same time, the distribution of hydrogen was examined by the Ag decoration method with the ...
